# How to save a recipe from YouTube

Open the YouTube post, tap Share, and choose Saucepan. Saucepan reads the caption, the on-screen text and the narration and saves the recipe with ingredients and steps. If Saucepan is missing from the Share row, tap More and turn it on.

Cooking videos are long. Save the recipe once and cook from the steps, not from the timeline.

## Steps

1. Open the video in YouTube.
2. Tap **Share**.
3. Choose **Saucepan**. If you do not see it, scroll to the end of the row, tap **More**, and turn on Saucepan.
4. Check the recipe Saucepan made. Imports are a draft, and you can edit anything.

## If the recipe is missing details

If the recipe is in the description, Saucepan uses it. Otherwise it reads the video.

You can also copy the link and paste it into Saucepan.

Recipes from other people are for your own cooking. Do not publish them as your own.
