1 Step 1: Peel the potatoes and the onions. Grate them all using the medium holes of a box grater or use a food processor with a grating disc.2 Step 2: Place a strainer over a large bowl. Put the grated potato mass onto the strainer and press, keeping the water that drains out.3 Step 3: Blend the potato and onion mash together with the eggs and flour. Add the minced garlic (for savoury pancakes only).4 Step 4: Take the bowl with the excess water from the potatoes, carefully remove the liquid, leaving the thicker potato starch at the bottom. Add that starch to the potato pancake mass.5 Step 5: Add 1 tablespoon of sour cream, season with a generous amount of salt and black pepper. Mix everything together well with a spatula.6 Step 6: Fry the pancakes on both sides, roughly 3-5 minutes per side, until golden.7 Step 7: Optional: To remove excess fat, move the fried pancakes onto a paper towel before serving.8 Step 8: Serve with sour cream and sprinkle with chopped herbs. For a sweet version, sprinkle with icing sugar.getsaucepan.com/r/18c48cc6-ce03-4d15-8208-405f642d56be · Original: https://www.polonist.com/placki-polish-potato-pancakes/
