You may use a pressure cooker.3Step 3: Strain the Daal and Kidney Beans and keep aside. Keep aside 1 cup of water for the gravy.4Step 4: In a Handi or pot, heat the oil and add the whole Garam Masala until fragrant.5Step 5: Add the Ginger & Garlic paste and stir well.6Step 6: Add the chopped Onions and saute until golden brown.7Step 7: Add the chopped Green Chillies and saute for another minute.8Step 8: Add the powdered spices and stir well.9Step 9: Add the Tomato puree and mix well until the gravy starts to bubble.10Step 10: Transfer the Daal and Red Beans to the gravy and mix well. Add the 1 cup of water kept aside from boiling.11Step 11: Turn the flame low and leave the dish uncovered.12Step 12: Keep stirring so the Daal and Red Beans don't stick to the bottom.13Step 13: Once it begins to thicken, add salt to taste.14Step 14: Add another cup of water and keep stirring. The longer it cooks on low flame, the creamier it gets.15Step 15: Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring from time to time. Keep mashing some lentils while stirring to give texture. Add more water for desired medium consistency.16Step 16: When the gravy thickens, add the butter and cream. The consistency should be neither thick nor thin, but medium.17Step 17: Mix well and switch off the heat.18Step 18: Add the dried fenugreek leaves (Kasuri Methi) and mix again.19Step 19: Place a foil in the middle of the Daal.20Step 20: Add the burning coal to the foil.21Step 21: Pour the oil on the coal and immediately cover the dish so the smoke is contained inside.22Step 22: Keep it covered for a minute, then remove the coal and foil and stir the Daal.23Step 23: Garnish the Daal Makhani with butter, a drizzle of cream, and some coriander before serving.24Step 24: Serve with hot Nans, Chapatis, or Rice.getsaucepan.com/r/55bedbe0-d729-4be6-a1a1-43ac18bef92d · Original: https://desibypardesi.com/daal-makhani-restaurant-style/
