1. 1Step 1: Season the beef with a pinch of salt.
2. 2Step 2: Add oil to a hot pot on medium heat. Brown the beef for about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
3. 3Step 3: Add the onion to the pot (it still contains oil) and sauté until brown.
4. 4Step 4: Bring the beef back to the pot and stir with the onion very well.
5. 5Step 5: Add the pilau masala spice, ginger, garlic, tomatoes, salt and stock cubes. Stir to combine.
6. 6Step 6: Add the washed rice, water or stock and bay leaves. Mix well, cover the pot and boil until the water is absorbed.
7. 7Step 7: Reduce the heat to low and cover again let it cook slowly till the rice is tender and fluffy.
8. 8Step 8: Allow to sit for about 5 minutes, and then serve.
