Bubur Ayam (Indonesian Chicken Congee)

1. 1Step 1: Wash and drain the rice, then place it in a pot with the water.
2. 2Step 2: Bring to a boil, then lower to a simmer, cover, and cook until the rice is tender and thickened into a congee consistency.

5. 5Step 5: Let it simmer until the chicken is cooked through, about 10 minutes. Remove from the pan and let rest for 10 minutes, then shred the chicken.
6. 6Step 6: Ladle the congee into serving bowls, add 1 tablespoon of fish sauce and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Adjust the taste by adding more sauce if desired.
7. 7Step 7: Add the shredded chicken, then top with green onions, Chinese doughnuts, fried shallot, and crackers.
