Follow the package directions but take the least minute. Drain but do not rinse. Put the cooked pasta directly into the baking vessel, usually a 1 1/2 QT casserole dish.3Step 3: Put the milk in a microwave-safe container and microwave for 30 seconds, then 15-second intervals until lukewarm.4Step 4: In a deep saucepan, melt the butter and sprinkle in the flour. Whisk to incorporate. Cook on low, whisking constantly, for about a minute to get rid of the raw taste in the flour.5Step 5: Slowly pour in the milk and whisk until combined. Cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly. The sauce should coat the back of a spoon. Do not leave unattended, as the milk can burn the bottom of the pan.6Step 6: Once the sauce is thick and bubbly, add 2-3 slices of cheese at a time, whisking until melted. Repeat until all cheese is used. Add salt and pepper to taste.7Step 7: Pour the cheese mixture over the noodles and stir with a whisk or spoon to coat all noodles.8Step 8: Bake on the middle rack for about 35-40 minutes, until golden and bubbly brown on top. Let sit for about 10 minutes.getsaucepan.com/r/e1d07aa7-cd5d-490c-b410-ea4559b80b4b · Original: https://nostalgicthymes.blog/moms-mac-and-cheese/
