If the crust is soft, lightly mist with water or rub with wet hands before baking at 350°F (175°C) until crisp, about 7 minutes. Otherwise, slide the bread into a 325°F (160°C) oven for 3 to 6 minutes. When using sliced bread, lightly toast it.2Step 2: Before assembling, let the bread cool briefly to avoid melting the mayo.3Step 3: Using a serrated bread knife, slit the bread lengthwise, maintaining a hinge if possible. Hollow out some of the insides to make room for the filling.4Step 4: Spread your chosen fat on the two cut sides of bread, covering all the way to the edge. If using avocado, lay down thin slices and mash them so they adhere.5Step 5: Season by drizzling Maggi or other liquid condiment, or sprinkling with salt and pepper.6Step 6: Layer the filling, pickle, chile, cucumber, and herbs from the bottom up.7Step 7: Close the sandwich. Serve whole or cut in half crosswise.getsaucepan.com/r/e8a4f276-f625-46e3-9609-d945c6e2ca5b · Original: https://www.vietworldkitchen.com/blog/2025/07/banh-mi-recipe-for-making-vietnamese-sandwiches-anytime.html
