Place them in a large bowl of cold water with some kosher salt, toss gently, and soak for 20 minutes to release any sand.2Step 2: Using your hands, lift the mussels out of the soaking water and transfer them to a colander. Rinse well under cold running water, being careful not to pour the mussels directly into the colander so any sand stays in the bowl.3Step 3: In a large pot or skillet over medium heat, add the butter, shallots, garlic, white wine, bay leaf, parsley, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a good simmer and let the wine reduce slightly, about 2-3 minutes.4Step 4: Add the mussels to the pot, cover with a lid, and cook until the mussels just open, about 5-7 minutes. Discard any mussels that remain closed.5Step 5: Transfer the mussels to wide bowls. Ladle the white wine sauce over the top, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately with crusty French bread for dipping.getsaucepan.com/r/fc54f989-02c2-4eba-b2bb-7e6b53fcefee · Original: https://littleferrarokitchen.com/julia-childs-mussels-mariniere/
