Most recipe sites publish their recipe as data for search engines. We read that data, so you get the recipe as the cook wrote it. When a page has none, AI reads the page and pulls out the ingredients and steps. For Instagram and TikTok, it reads the caption.
Nothing about you is stored. Every recipe links back to where it came from, because it belongs to the cook who wrote it.
Yes. No sign-up and no ads. Each person can read about 10 links an hour, which keeps it free for everyone.
When the recipe is written in the caption, yes. When it is only spoken in the video, or the post is private, it can’t read it. Saucepan’s app saves those from the share sheet and listens to the video too.
We keep no record of who pasted what. The recipe from a link is kept for about a week so it loads faster for the next person, then deleted.
Some sites block automatic readers or put recipes behind a login or paywall. Some pages only link to a recipe somewhere else. When a site fails, open the recipe there, or save it with Saucepan’s app from your browser’s share button.
