1 Step 1: Make the pickle: bring the vinegar, sugar and half a cup of water to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Pour over the carrot and daikon, add a pinch of salt, and let stand about 30 minutes until tangy but still crunchy. Drain before using.2 Step 2: Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chopped onion 2 to 3 minutes until soft, then add the ground pork with the hoisin, soy, sesame oil, hot sauce, five-spice, onion powder, garlic powder and pepper.3 Step 3: Cook the pork, stirring often, for 5 to 6 minutes until nicely browned and no longer pink, then set aside.4 Step 4: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).5 Step 5: Spread about 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise inside each split baguette and place them cut side up on a baking sheet.6 Step 6: Toast the baguettes about 5 minutes until warm and slightly crisp, taking care not to crisp them so hard they shatter when filled.7 Step 7: Spread the pâté on the bottom half of each loaf, then layer on the browned pork, two slices of pork roll and two slices of salami.8 Step 8: Add a drizzle of Maggi Seasoning or soy sauce, a few cucumber strips, cilantro, and scallions.9 Step 9: Top with a generous spoonful of the pickled carrot and daikon, sliced chilies, a little chile oil if using, and extra black pepper, then close the sandwich.getsaucepan.com/r/c187a8db-6f42-5db9-b400-676df5b2e54f
