Connect Saucepan to Cursor, Devin Desktop (Windsurf), Zed, Raycast and other MCP clients

Saucepan is a remote MCP server at https://getsaucepan.com/mcp, over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in. Add it to Cursor, Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf), Zed, Raycast, Goose, LM Studio or Codex CLI with the snippet for each below. The client opens Saucepan's sign-in in your browser. No API key, and it is free.

Updated November 4, 2026

These follow each tool’s own docs as of November 2026. Claude Code has its own page.

Cursor

In ~/.cursor/mcp.json (every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "saucepan": { "url": "https://getsaucepan.com/mcp" }
  }
}

Cursor opens the Saucepan sign-in when it first connects.

Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf)

Windsurf became Devin Desktop in June 2026. In ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json, or .devin/mcp_config.json in a project:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "saucepan": { "url": "https://getsaucepan.com/mcp", "transport": "http" }
  }
}

Devin signs in when it connects. To sign in again, click Authenticate next to Saucepan.

With the Devin CLI:

devin mcp add saucepan https://getsaucepan.com/mcp
devin mcp login saucepan

Zed

Open Settings → AI → MCP Servers, click Add Server, then Add Remote Server. Or add to your settings file:

{
  "context_servers": {
    "saucepan": { "url": "https://getsaucepan.com/mcp" }
  }
}

Zed asks you to sign in when it connects.

Raycast

Raycast’s MCP support needs Raycast Pro.

  1. Run Install MCP Server.
  2. Name it Saucepan, set the transport to HTTP, and enter https://getsaucepan.com/mcp.
  3. Set OAuth Type to Dynamic.
  4. Install, then choose Sign In.

Use it with @saucepan in AI Chat.

Goose

Run goose configure, choose Add Extension, then Remote Extension (Streamable HTTP), and enter the URL. In Goose Desktop: Extensions → Add custom extension. Goose opens the Saucepan sign-in on its own.

LM Studio

In LM Studio’s mcp.json (~/.lmstudio/mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "saucepan": { "url": "https://getsaucepan.com/mcp" }
  }
}

OAuth sign-in for remote servers needs LM Studio 0.4.10 or later.

Codex CLI

codex mcp add saucepan --url https://getsaucepan.com/mcp
codex mcp login saucepan

Any other client

  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • URL: https://getsaucepan.com/mcp
  • Auth: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration. The server answers with standard discovery metadata, so most clients find the sign-in on their own.

Try asking

  • “Search Saucepan for a quick gluten-free dinner.”
  • “Save this to Saucepan: https://…”
  • “What can I make from my pantry?”
  • “Add the ingredients for the dal to my groceries.”
  • “What’s on my meal plan this week?”

Without signing in, a client can search and read Saucepan’s 5,700+ recipes. Signed in, it can also save recipes, read your pantry, add to your grocery list and read and add to your meal plan.

Questions

Do I need an API key?

No. Saucepan uses OAuth with dynamic client registration. The client registers itself, opens a Saucepan page in your browser, and you sign in with Apple, Google or an email code and tap Allow.

Which transport?

Streamable HTTP at https://getsaucepan.com/mcp. There's nothing to install or run on your computer. Pick HTTP, not stdio or SSE, when a client asks.

Will I see recipe photo cards?

Cards show in ChatGPT and Claude. Most editors and launchers show Saucepan's results as text with a link to each recipe.

Can it delete my data?

No. It can save recipes, add grocery items and add to your meal plan. It can't delete anything, see your password, or post publicly.

How do I disconnect?

Remove the server in the client. To end the sign-in itself, open Profile, then ChatGPT & Claude in the Saucepan app, or the account menu, then ChatGPT and Claude at getsaucepan.com/app. The client loses access at once.
