These steps follow Mistral’s documentation. Mistral renamed Le Chat to Vibe in May 2026, and menus move, so pick the closest match if a name differs.
Steps
- On a computer, go to chat.mistral.ai.
- Open Connectors from the sidebar.
- Click + Add Connector, then the Custom MCP Connector tab.
- Enter the name
saucepan(no spaces) and the server URLhttps://getsaucepan.com/mcp. - Click Connect. Vibe finds Saucepan’s sign-in on its own.
- A Saucepan page opens. Sign in with Apple, Google or an email code, or make a free account there.
- Tap Allow.
Turn it on in a chat
Click + in the message box, or type /, then open Tools and switch on saucepan. Then ask in plain words.
- “Search Saucepan for a quick vegan soup.”
- “Save this to Saucepan: https://…” with a recipe link.
- “Save that recipe to Saucepan.”
- “What can I make from my pantry?”
- “Add the ingredients to my groceries.”
- “Put it on Friday’s dinner.”
Approvals
Vibe asks before it uses a connector’s tools. To stop it asking for the safe ones, open Connectors → My Connectors → saucepan → Functions and turn on Always allow for reading tools like search_saucepan_recipes, get_recipe and get_groceries. Mistral suggests keeping tools that change things, like save_recipe_from_link or add_to_groceries, on manual approval until you trust them.
What it can and can’t do
Without signing in, it can search and read Saucepan’s collection of 5,700+ recipes with photos. Signed in, it can also save recipes from a link, the chat or the collection, search your saved recipes, read your pantry, add to your grocery list, and read and add to your meal plan.
It can’t delete anything, see your password, or post publicly.
Disconnect
- In the Saucepan app: Profile → ChatGPT & Claude.
- On the web: getsaucepan.com/app → account menu → ChatGPT and Claude.
Vibe loses access at once. You can also remove it under Connectors → My Connectors in Vibe.
