Save recipes from TikTok videos
Open the TikTok, tap Share, and choose Saucepan. Saucepan reads the caption, the text on screen and the narration, then writes the ingredients and steps into your Inbox. You follow a list instead of scrubbing a 40-second video. Check the amounts, then save it.
Free to save. No account needed. iPhone today, Android coming soon.
How it works
Open the video
Find the recipe in TikTok.
Tap Share, then Saucepan
If Saucepan is not in the row, scroll to the end, tap More, and turn it on. You only do this once.
Tap Open Saucepan
The recipe waits in your Inbox as a draft, with ingredients and steps.
Review and save
Fix anything that looks off, then save it to your recipes. Cook Mode, timers and Groceries work from the saved copy.
Short videos skip quantities
A 30-second video rarely has time for every measurement. Saucepan saves what is said or shown. It does not invent amounts it never heard.
- Look for "to taste" and blank amounts in the Inbox draft.
- Fill them in after your first cook. Your version is the one that is saved.
- If the creator pins the full recipe in a comment or a blog, share that page too.
Then cook it.
A saved recipe opens in Cook Mode: one step at a time, in large type. Tap a time to start a timer. Timers ring like an alarm, even on silent.
Add what you need to Groceries, or add the recipe to your meal plan.
Questions
Does it read the video?
Yes. It reads the caption, the text on screen and the narration.
Do I need a TikTok account to use this?
You need whatever TikTok needs to let you open the video. Saucepan needs no account to save recipes.
The video is a slideshow with no talking. Will it work?
Text on screen is read, so a slideshow with written steps works. A video with no words and no text has nothing for Saucepan to read.
Can I paste a TikTok link instead of sharing?
Yes. Copy the link and paste it into Saucepan.
