Save recipes from Facebook posts and Reels
Open the post or Reel in Facebook, tap Share, and choose Saucepan. Facebook recipes are usually written in the post text or shown in a video, and Saucepan reads both. The recipe lands in your Inbox as a draft with ingredients and steps. Review it, then save it.
Free to save. No account needed. iPhone today, Android coming soon.
How it works
Open the post or Reel
Find the recipe in Facebook.
Tap Share, then Saucepan
If Saucepan is not in the row, scroll to the end, tap More, and turn it on. You only do this once.
Tap Open Saucepan
The recipe waits in your Inbox as a draft, with ingredients and steps.
Review and save
Fix anything that looks off, then save it to your recipes. Cook Mode, timers and Groceries work from the saved copy.
Private groups and posts you can only see signed in
Saucepan reads what you share from your own phone, as you see it. If a post sits in a private group, share it from the Facebook app on your phone.
- Use the Share button inside the Facebook app, not a copied link someone else must open.
- If a post is only a photo of a recipe, take a screenshot and save that.
- Comments with tweaks are not part of the post. Add them to your copy.
Then cook it.
A saved recipe opens in Cook Mode: one step at a time, in large type. Tap a time to start a timer. Timers ring like an alarm, even on silent.
Add what you need to Groceries, or add the recipe to your meal plan.
Questions
Does Saucepan access my Facebook account?
You share one post at a time, and Saucepan reads only what you shared. It does not sign in to your account or read your feed.
Can I save a recipe from a private group?
Share it from your own phone as you see it in the Facebook app. Saucepan reads what you share.
What about recipes in the comments?
Saucepan reads the post. If the real recipe is in a comment, copy that text and paste it into Saucepan.
Can I paste a link instead?
Yes. Copy the link and paste it into Saucepan.
