Accounts and sign-in
In short: You do not need an account. Sign in with Apple, an email code or Google if you want sync and sharing.
Do I need an account?
No. Saucepan works without one. Sign in when you want sync across devices, Cook Together, publishing, following, or the AI features that run in the cloud.
How can I sign in?
With Apple, with an email code, or with Google. Sign in with Apple is shown first.
Is there a password?
No. With email, we send you a 6-digit code and a sign-in link to prove the address is yours. Codes work once and expire within an hour.
Can I use Hide My Email?
Yes. With Sign in with Apple you can share a private Apple relay address instead of your real email. Saucepan never shows your email address to other users.
What if I sign in two different ways?
If the methods share the same verified email address, such as Apple and Google, they link to the same Saucepan account automatically.
How do I move to a new phone?
Sign in with the same account on the new phone, and your library syncs. If you never signed in, recipes live on your old device and may be in its backup.
What do I get by signing in?
Sync across your devices, a backup of your library, Cook Together, publishing and following, and cloud features such as nutrition and swaps. The web app uses the same account.
Can I change my handle or display name?
Yes. You can change both anytime. Your first handle comes from the name Apple or Google shares, or something like cook_4821 if there is none. We never use your email for it.
How old do I need to be?
At least 13, or the minimum age in your country if it is higher. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to the terms for you.
What if I cannot open the app to delete my account?
In the app, open Settings and tap Delete Account. If you cannot open the app, email support@getsaucepan.com from the address linked to your account. Full steps.
