Privacy and data

On your device. Without an account, your recipes, photos, lists, plans and taste profile stay on your iPhone. We do not receive them. If you delete the app, this data is deleted from the device. Device backups, such as iCloud Backup, may include it.

Your library syncs to our servers, so it is on all your devices and backed up. Only you can see your private recipes. People you share with see only what you share. Read what Saucepan stores.

No. We do not sell your personal information, and the app has no ads. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. See the Privacy Policy.

No. Saucepan has no ads. It is free to use, with the optional Saucepan+ subscription.

The Privacy Policy covers this. It says content you store on our servers when you are signed in can be used to build AI, and may be licensed with your name, email, handle and account ID removed. It also lists what is never used, such as your taste profile, allergies, contacts and Apple Health data. Without an account, your content stays on your device. Mostly recipe text, and only when needed. Cloud AI reads a recipe when your phone cannot, and it makes nutrition estimates and swaps. Ask sends your question, and Polish sends the one dish photo you choose. We never send videos, photos of people, your receipts or your pantry shelves. We do not send your name, email or allergies.

Yes. Choose On this iPhone only in Settings, then Privacy, then AI. Saucepan then reads recipes on your device only and tells you when a recipe needs the cloud.

No. You share a post to Saucepan with the Share button, and Saucepan reads only what you shared. It does not connect to your Instagram, TikTok or YouTube account.

Only you. People in your household can also see the shared grocery list, meal plan and Pantry, and who added or checked each item.

In Saucepan, open Settings and tap Delete Account. Read what will be deleted, then tap Delete Account Permanently. This removes your account and everything stored on our servers. It cannot be undone. Cancel Saucepan+ separately in the Settings app. Full steps.

Your account is removed from our live database right away, and from our hosting provider's backups within 30 days. Recipes saved only on your device stay there until you delete them or the app.

Saucepan keeps simple usage stats on its own servers, such as which screens and features get used. They never include your recipes, notes, lists or anything you type. There are no third-party analytics or ad tools in the app. You can turn the stats off in Settings, then Privacy, then Share Usage Stats.

Yes, for analytics. This website uses Google Analytics to count visits, with Google's advertising features turned off. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default. The app has no cookies.

No. Apple Health is write-only. Saucepan adds a meal's nutrition to Health only when you tap Add to Apple Health, and it reads nothing from Health.

Not unless you tap Find Friends and allow access. Then your phone turns each number and email into a one-way hash on your device and sends only the hashes, never the raw numbers or names.

Our servers run on Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States (Oregon region). All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted.
